Description
The Oilcure tea tree oil helps support skin affected by acne, sunburn, insect bites, and minor blemishes. It acts as a natural deodorant and air purifier. It may help support skin affected by cold sores. It's also good for the hair and may help support scalp health related to dandruff, lice, and dryness, making hair smooth and shiny.
Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca oil, is derived from the Melaleuca alternifolia tree. It contains terpene hydrocarbons, monoterpenes, and sesquiterpenes. Because of these compounds, tea tree oil has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used for skin, hair, health, and nails.
Benefits
1. For acne:
Tea tree oil has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that may help support skin affected by acne-causing bacteria. This essential oil can travel into the skin and may help support clearer pores, resulting in smoother, healthier-looking skin. It also helps remove dust and dirt, and its anti-inflammatory properties may help calm the appearance of a flare-up.
2. Eye area comfort:
A stye is a swelling on the eyelid that can be irritating. As tea tree oil has antibacterial properties, it's sometimes used to help support comfort in this area — however, the eye area is highly sensitive, so this use should only be done under guidance from a doctor.
3. Odor support:
Tea tree oil's antifungal and antimicrobial properties are sometimes used to help support freshness. Given how sensitive this area of the body is, any use here should be well-diluted and discussed with a doctor first.
4. Supports skin affected by athlete's foot:
Athlete's foot is a contagious fungal infection on the feet that can spread to the toenails and hands, with symptoms like blisters, redness, cracking, and peeling. Tea tree oil may help ease scaling, inflammation, itching, and burning associated with this condition.
5. Helps with lice:
Tea tree oil may help support scalp health affected by lice. It contains two compounds, cineole and terpinen, which may help in this process.
6. Supports skin affected by psoriasis:
Psoriasis is characterized by red, scaly and inflamed areas of dry skin, which can cause itchiness, pain and irritation — there is currently no known cure for the condition. Tea tree oil's antibacterial properties may help ease some discomfort associated with flare-ups.
